Erghh... I just got back from my cuz, MizWI's open house.. the only thing about going to such a big open house, i have to wait til most of the guest have left to even chat with the hosts.. haha.. but it did give me time to catch up with my other cuz, MdmIN.
MdmIN, the only daughter of my mum's only sister, is about 6 years younger than me. She used to live with me, along with her 2 older brothers throughout our school years. After i left for the UK, and these was during her rebelious teen years (after her mother passed away), she left us to live with her father. She got married immediately after graduating from school despite our protests. We were of course disappointed as she was a smart student & could have gone quite far in her studies, if she had concentrated on it. Instead, by the age of 19, she's already a mother of 1 (now she has 2 boys) and living under the same roof as her in-laws. Couldnt have been easy..
Anyway, recently we have rekindled our relationship.. well, we have kept in touch, meet up every now & then after she got married of course, but was never that close really. She was concentrating on her husband & young son at the time, as well as juggling classes & work plus housework. Hence, the distance... But nowadays, she's gotten much better hold of handling her 2 boys and i think she's completed her studies to-date & has gotten a better job at an international school. She also just bought a house & moved in last weekend.
Which makes me realized, that the young, restless & rebellious teen that i've known, had finally grown up & became quite a lady. Wasnt an easy journey, but she has really matured & at peace with herself. She said that a lot of it was thanks to her husband, who although himself quite young when they got married, was able to tame & guide her to be who she is today. The husband, is one of the most nicest man i've had the pleasure to know. He is curtious, very pleasant & always willing to help. He'd offer to wash the plates even when he's the guest at our house. Orang kata "beradap" la budak nya.. She has been quite lucky to have found a man such as him in her life.
