Princess Lilue

This has got to be one of my favourite read for 2012. It's much better than any travel book that i've read so far, but as reading/writing goes, it's not that superb of course. But it is based on the 3 authors' own experiences, so saying that it's bad is like criticizing someone's holiday plans. Another reason for me liking this book is because i've been itching to travel lately, but havent had any opportunity to do so. It is true what they say, that once you've started working, it's almost impossible to take any time-off. even more so once you started having family. Furthermore, me being an only child & a girl, it's almost impossible for me to go on my own anywhere without getting the third degree from my mum. heck, i even get critisized for going out to dinner with my girlfriends on a workday. just coz i'm not safely at home by the time the sun sets. *rolls eye*

So i've been planning to go to Seoul with a girlfriend since last year. we initially wanted to go in 2012, but i just changed job, then she did too. plus my mum was really adamant that i cannot go on my own, and if i did, i have to join one of those tour groups. We didnt really want to, coz firstly tour group are a lot more expensive and normally a lot more shorter & hectic. So we really put our foot down and say that 2013 will definitely be when we'll get there. 

My mum has put up a lot of fight over this. She's even thinking of travelling at the same time, so i'd have to choose between her & my trip. Sigh. But after her recent trip to China, she mellowed down a bit, enough to finally accept the fact that i am going. Mainly coz she really didnt want to go, being suspicious of China people & food, so she was pleasantly surprised that the place was breathtakingly beautiful & the tour group had well-planned out their trip, with the food and speed (their group was after all consist of pensioners & their family). So she was a little ashamed for almost missing out on the experience. She has reluctantly accepted that i've bought my tix, although she still throw out comments like she's going to tashkent in spring & that i should have followed her instead. :p 

oh yeah, before i forget, i've managed to read 58 books, as compared to my target of 50.. ^_^

Not my best performance, i've highest was 70+ book/year a couple of years back, but with hectic work & recent addiction to kdrama/kpop, my reading has taken a bit of a setback. :(  am still thinking whether i want to increase my reading target for the year, but i havent decided. what do you think? should i? :)
