I'm in one of my moods again.. i'm looking at my screen, but cant seem to concentrate.. I do get them once in a while, but more so now, especially since i got involved in monthly closing.. it's like, during closing (abt 2 weeks), i'm so darn busy.. but after closing, it's more on catch-up work & meetings. So, just finished closing last Wed & other reports on thu/fri.. today, i cant seem to start on any work :(

Terasa cam mood swing or something.. adeh..

P/s: dah ler last thu, doc tetiba lak said i might have chicken pox.. heart attack jap.. i already had the jap ages ago though.. after sweating over it during the weekend, my conclusion is, i have no fever & there's no new "pox", therefore, i dont have chicken pox, just irritating rashes.. :p

He may be a pretty boy.. but this scruffy look is one of my favourite.. hehe..

Also, he may look like a pretty boy, but i think, his personality is pretty strong/tough.. (Check the Joongbo episode where he acted as HB's manager for the day.. garang gile..hehe).. Even HB admitted that initially she thought of him as very young ie as "adik" (younger brother), but once she got to know him, she saw him as a man instead.... :)

p/s: nampak je blur, but just see how the SS501 members looked up at him..

Some of the reasons i love Hyun Joong..... he's too cute...

HJ: Ah, what's that? what's that? tell me
HB: It's best not to hear it (*trying to avoid the question)
HJ: Listen, I want to hear about it *lifting his headgear*...
HB: *Burst out laughing*....
HJ: It's good that you're laughing.. I'm always open.. *open ear..

HB: Because i'm the elder sister, i cant do this, right?
HJ: No. Dont endure it just because you're the elder sister. Even if it's a grandfather, if it's the grandfather does wrong, it's still the grandfather's fault.
HB: *touched*..

HJ bought back presents for HB from Japan, he felt embarrass but still bought what she requested.
HB: He looks like he's indifferent, but he remembers what needs to be remembered.

HJ: I have a gift for Buin. It's not bought. I got it from somewhere else.
HB: Didnt you already gave me the 3 presents (from Japan) ?
HJ: I still prepared something in the end.
HJ: In this line, i buried 5. Try and find.
HB: *Finding the first paper crane* Is it really made by you? Not left behind by kids? What's the meaning of this?
HJ: Didnt i say in the beginning? If you gather 1000 cranes together, love will come true. Finding 5, and the one before, I'll make it (the rest) for you in the future..
*Blackroom interview (HB): After this, i will.. gems, rings,..i will not look forward to any of those. Being able to laugh together, being able to make me laugh! That is the hardest and most fortunate..

From Shinlang (Husband) to Buin (Wife):
"She hates being cute, so don't make her act cute..
She's a good cook, but...don't make her cook too much..
She finds it bothersome.
And don't lie to her..
Phone her more than twice a day..
Don't look at any other woman..
And you must never talk about the first love..
And make lots of money so she doesn't have to work the events..
and diligently deposit paycheck every month...so she won't have to go on different shows anymore..
Anyway... Even if i dont say it..
Please be good to her! Be good to her no matter what..
Don't come to Jeju Island for the honeymoon though.. She'll think of me...
So for the next husband, this will be a place he wont need to come..
To be honest..i didnt show it but inside my heart i feel that
You helped me a lot...
When i was having difficult times, you really helped me....
I really wanted to tell you this... I used to live a very confined life.
I'm not sure if you realised..
but outside of my friends, nobody knew me.. What kind of a person I am..
But I think Buin knows..
My dark side.. You know it's not pretentious..
But you really changed me a lot..
I think at the moment i need it the most, God has put you in my life..
I have always wanted to tell you this..
You really helped me in most difficult time...
You should be happy to know.. that Buin will be the last woman I'll do mountain hiking with.."

From Buin to Shinlang:
"HyunJoong is...
He's a kid who loves to win...so please keep losing to him..
But you can't make it obvious that you're losing to him..
You have to make it seem like you tried really hard but lost..
He can't wake up well..so if you tickle him, he wakes up well..
He hates mushy things...so don't expect too much...
Even if he doesn't express it..just feel it with your heart.."

Hyun Joong :
We always filmed on Tuesdays...
I think Tuesdays will seem really empty from now on..
If we have work on something else on Tuesdays..
that feels really sad.
If I think like nothing had happened...
It would feel so empty..I think I'll feel like there's a hole in my daily life..

Buin:
Still...
Don't focus on that..
Don't pay attention to that..
Concentrate on the work you're doing..

Buin's bad qualities from Shinlang :
"I'll tell you Hwang Buin's bad quality...
You're not even strong....and you pretend that you are..
You pretend you're strong..and cry by herself in the background..
I don't think that's necessary.
I'm just saying that people don't just see Hwang Buin being strong..and I'm not saying you should pretend to be feminine...
know this from being around you...
and you're not strong at all....
So.. don't pretend to be strong...and laugh when you want.. and be sad when you're sad..
I just wish you wouldn't try so hard to look so strong.
People don't know.. that Hwang Buin is a real woman..
When you meet someone nice next time...
Go right ahead and ask him for mushy things like stars from the sky.."

At the end..
They shouted out at the peak

Hyun Joong :
"Hwang Buin!!
Whenever things are hard..
Remember the hard times on Mount Halla..
After hard times.. there will be laughter too..
I hope you'll always remember that...
Be happy~!!"

Buin :
"Hubby~!!Thank you...
and sorry....
That's it.."

Black room interview:
[To: the fans who have given love..]

HwangBo:
I'm Hwang Buin of the Lettuce couple..
I think we... lived a happy and beautiful life, thanks to your support..
I'm sure you know.. but we're a couple that's not good at expressing ourselves..
Please don't be disappointed..
In our hearts, we're really really thankful..
Don't just be envious, watching us...
I hope you get married and have a happy marriage like us too..
Everyone... Please be happy...And thank you..

Hyun Joong:
Hello..
Sunday Sunday Night's We Got Married's viewers I'd like to thank..
First... for us, the Lettuce couple...
I was happy for all the interest and participation..
I think we were able to have a happy marriage, thanks to everyone..
Hwangbo Hyejung.... Wife...
Please give her lots of support in the future too..
I love you...

It started simple enough.. my friend insisted that i watch the Korean drama, Boys Over Flowers... I managed to avoid it long enough but i finally caved & watched it... now i'm hooked.. again... :(

Rather, i'm hooked on one particular guy.. haha.. I mean, who wouldnt fall for Gu Jun Pyo for all that he did to win Geum Jan Di's heart? But this time the "hero" didnt do anything for me but I'm hooked on the so-call rival, Yoon Ji Hoo..

I dont usually have crushes on celebs (JohnnyDepp & Hugh Jackman are the only celebs that i liked).. Although i really liked Goong & Coffee Prince, i didnt fall for the guys either.. so i have no idea why i like this one particular guy so much. Maybe he's too much like me?

So i did what any fan would do, i Wiki'ed & Google'd Kim Hyun Joong up.. hehe..

I managed to look up one of his earlier works, We Got Married. Now i'm crazy, not just for Ji Hoo, i'm crazy over JoongBo (KHJ + HwangBo = JoongBo in WGM) too.. *swoon over KHJ*...

KHJ is shy & dont relate well with other, but very ambitious/competitive.. he doesnt say much, but he can be very witty.. he hates mushy stuff like couples t-shirt & romantic requests (like asking him to pick a star), but he did it for HB.. and when he does any mushy stuff, it really is so darn sweet.. He is really young but quite mature.

One thing about the JoongBo or Ssangchu(lettuce) couple is that the 2 of them are always having fun & laughing. Forever betting against each other, even their farewell activity was a mini olympic competition & not some romantic outing. They really understand each other, even though they never say anything in particular. And i loved how both of them tries so hard to do what the other one tells them to & how much they worry about each other.

One of the sweetest clip from Joongbo.

P/S: If i ever get married, i really hope that my marriage has as much fun & laughter as those two. Even if they were not a real couple. :)

P/s/s: Because of KHJ also, my reading has been pushed aside.. I cant concentrate.. *ashamed*.. how la to reach 50 books this year...?

In view of the vampire-craze these days, with Eclipse showing in cinemas, i thought i'd review some of the vampire-related books that i've read recently.

1. Twilight Saga
If you still havent heard of Twilight, you've clearly had your head in the sands lately.. hehe.. Just watched Eclipse in the cinema & it was quite impressive as a movie.. But as usual, it's not quite what i imagine like from the book.. of course the book was much, much better, how can you compare it?..

As high as Twilight is on my radar, i think it's not my no1..

2. Vampire Academy
This is right now, is my no.1 vampire series. Not sure why though, hehe.. but i guess i like the balance in the storyline, between the action & romance part of it..
Wah, just realised that they're planning to make a movie.. Huh? Ben Barnes as Dimitri? Noooo....!!!

3. House of Night
The first few series of this book was so-so.. but then the storyline picked up & now i cant wait to read the 7th (Burned) & 8th (Awakened) book of the series. However, out of all the vampire stories, this one has a lot more love complications to say the least.. haha..

4. True Blood / Southern Vampire Series
Same with Vampire Diaries, i've yet to read the books. But i heard that the books are pretty good, although the books & tv version are quite different. Obviously the tv drama is meant very much for adults viewing only.. Okay la.. can layan.. hehe..

5. Vampire Diaries
I've seen a few episodes of the tv drama, but i've yet to read the books. However, the few pages that i've read from The Awakening, doesnt sounds very interesting. Popular blond girl gets upset when the new cute guy in school is not interested in her? Duh.. Starting storyline already sounds boring..
Tv version, i'm not sure how interesting is it, but the characters are cute.. hehe.. will reserve my judgement on it first..

6. Undead series
I've read a few of MaryJanice Davidson's Undead series & it's absolutely hilarious.. I think i've read another similar funny-vampire-story-type, but wasnt as interesting..

Jul 6, 2010

What are you currently reading? Would you recommend it to others? Is it part of a series (if so, which one)? What are you thinking about it? What book(s) would you compare it to, if any?

I just finished reading The Magician's Guild, The Novice & The High Lord from the Black Magician trilogy, based on Mrs BF's recommendation.. It's actually quite good, something different than the current vampire-craze. Err, although i am unashamedly part of the craze also.. hehe..

What books i'd compare it to? Hmm.. i cant think of any, although it is magic-related. Not quite Harry Potter, although it is about a young girl's journey to learn magic.

Last saturday, i joined the event organised by PPAS at Taman Tasik Shah Alam. It was announced in our GRMY forum by one of our members, BunnyBaby (who is also part of the organisors).

A few of us from the GRMY decided to take this opportunity to join in the event & meet up at the same time. However, since it was announced at the last minute, most already had plans so could not make it.

I arrived at the location at around almost 8am. While waiting to register my name (& to collect the cap & bookmark & food coupon), received a message from Khairul, saying that he had booked lot 25 for us GRMY folks. Mind you i have not meet any of these GoodReads folks before & most of us did not use our own pictures/faces as our avatar (me included).. good thing there wasnt as many people around yet, so i easily could guess which was Khairul.

The 2 of us spread out our mats, but was chased away by the usher coz Lot 25 was booked for Jabatan Pengairan (or something like that). Good thing that we were "registered" under Bunnybaby as "staff & families", so he allowed us to set up camp at Lot 35. Much later, we were joined by Najibah & her family plus Mr Thamrong/Hamizao & their granddaughter.

To be recorded in the Malaysia Book of Records, each participant was to read something for 1 hour, once the "gong" has commenced. Mostly brought their own books, some had newspapers, others magazine. The ushers also passed around some magazines for those who did not bring any reading materials.

At first, most folks was busy setting up camp.. having breakfast.. taking photos.. but once it started, everyone (at least most people) started reading.. a funny thing i overheard, about 1/2hr into the reading time, a guy behind me was surprised that he's only been reading for 1/2hr & saying that it's too long to reach an hour of reading.. haha.. i normally spend too much/long on reading, especially when i'm suppose to go to sleep..

After the 1 hour, we packed up to leave & said our goodbyes.. i dropped by to meet/say hi to Bunnybaby & ended up chatting with her for the next 2hours.. I havent meet too many people that i can talk non-stop with on the first encounter :) so it's a pleasant surprise. Of courses, we have been "chatting" online for a while beforehand..

Anyway, it's always fun to meet up with like-minded people. At least now we have a face to match to these folks that we talk to in GRMY.. :)

More stories from:

This week’s musing asks…

What do you think of books that receive a lot of hype? (think of the “Twilight” saga, or “Harry Potter”, or “The Da Vinci Code”). Do you read them? Why, or why not?

Some of these books are actually pretty good... but so far that i've encountered (& not many at that so i could be a little bias), are well.. not the greatest really.. chances are, i would want to see for myself what makes so & so books "hype"-ful, so yes, i would probably read them & then make up my mind about it..

However, i did read the Twilight saga, Harry Potter & Da Vince Code way before it got huge.. i really liked these books, but not obsessed.. And i have seen how obsessed some people are (for Twillight).. *shake head*...

Tepat seminggu selepas Mak Uda meninggal, Mak Tam pula menyusul.

Do i really have to do this work/job for the next 20 years? I so can't imagine it.. :(

P/s:I'm in one of "i hate my job" & cant-focus moods.. how ah to get rid of it?

Jun 6, 2010

Just finished reading Nora Robert's Bed of Roses.. I have to say, this Bride Quartet is one of my favourite non-supernatural books of Nora Roberts.. :)

Also, i'm totally envious of the women.. having their own business & their own space.. if i had skills such as that, i would love to do the same.. it would be great to be doing something that you love on daily basis, rather than "makan gaji" like i'm doing.. dont get me wrong, i like my job, just dont love it that's all..

and i've been so distracted lately, not sure why.. maybe coz i'm totally swamped, doing things i dont like.. which i absolutely hate & it makes me want to go off & do other things.. darn..

Are there such man like Kasyah (Lagenda Budak Setan) or Jim (Ghost Whisperer) out there? Or maybe there are, but not for me..
Orang lain dah anak 4..
aku masih di sini lagi..
masih menanti, masih mencari..
salah aku kah?
atau belum sampai jodoh ku lagi?

I went to FRIM, a nearby man-made forest on wed for our team's teambuilding exercise on wed.. it wasnt my first time, so i thot.. no problem.. the hiking part is tiring, but still do-able.. whadayou know.. 15mins into the forest.. i actually step on some unstable rock (on the pathway).. man, that was painful.. but bearable, so i kept going on.. finished my hiking.. had lunch.. even went back to office (as bos told us to..) even tho it was 3pm already.. only after i reached home did my foot starts throbbing.. unsure what to do, i kept rubbing oil (minyak angin) on it..

next morning, felt better.. so i went for my meeting in Putrajaya.. good thing i didnt have to move much, even skipped lunch for it.. went there & came back straight.. noticed my feeet's kinda swelling.. and was feeling kinda feverish.. but the pain's mainly gone.. got myself a bandage & it felt slightly better..
so.. *shame*.. what do i do with this swollen feet now???

Apr 6, 2010

Oh no.. i havent update my poor blog for soooo long... hehe.. i've got tons to tell, & nothing to write.. haha.. one of the point of having the blog in the first place was to sort that out actually.. guess not quite working, huh... ? ;)

So let's start with an easy one.. i know this is a bit outdated question, but what the heck..

Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about multitasking.

Do you – or are you even able – to do other things while you read? Do you knit, hold a conversation, keep an eye on the TV? Anything?

Ahaks.. i, unfortunately do do other stuffs when i read.. the main one is usually the tv.. my mum used to be so puzzled as to how i can follow thru both the book & the show's storyline at the same timee.. haha.. but then she's the type who can only concentrate on one thing at a time..

music - of course.. back when i was in school i used to be unable to study without having my radio with me, which drives my mum nuts coz she just cant understand it... but she came around eventually.. even tried to compensate it by going all out looking for the right type of music to stimulate the brain.. baroque, instrumental, that kind of stuff.. dont know if it was the music, probably not.. but i supposed i did okay back then...

i dont normally, but i can hold a conversation when i read.. but then again, i normally read on my own, so i suppose i dont really do that.. does that make any sense? heheh...

I cant think of anything else that i might be doing while i am reading.. oh ya, dont forget, munching / eating.. hehe.. that can be considered multi-tasking, right? *wink*...

Feb 26, 2010

I finally managed to catch the new movie, Percy Jackson The Lightning Thief.. I also just recently finished reading the series, in anticipating of the movie, of course..

The movie is quite different really, but not in a bad way.. Although there are a couple of things that i'd complain about (spoiler alert!!):

- What happened to The Oracle? Isnt that prophecy thing a major part of the story?

- I dont quite like that in the movie, Hades had wanted a war, hence confirming the belief that he is evil. The fact was, the book specifically mentioned that he didnt want the war, but all three gods (Zeus, Poseidon & Hades) were being set up against each other by having their weapon (thunder bolt & helm) stolen.

- Plus, Percy did not leave Grover behind & taken his mother with him. Instead he promised to find another way to save his mother. Hades, not Zeus, who was grateful to Percy that he returned Percy's mother as a reward, without being asked i might add.

- Annabeth's character in the book is a whole lot smarter than the movie, who kept flaunting her hair around & playing goey eyes with Percy. Duh.. I also had wanted to see how they'd show Mr D & Clarisse and how Percy could stay dry coming out of water, but it didnt affect the movie that much.. haha..

- But Hades's "Mick Jagger" look was really cool.. ahaks.. so was Medusa & Chiron.. and i liked how they used water instead of ambrosia to heal the wounds..

All in all.. both book and movie come highly recommended, especially if you have a thing for greek gods & myth, like i do.. hehe.. :Although i'm not sure if this series can rival Harry
Potter though..*wink*..
