I love to read...

I read just about anything i can get my hand onto really, but given the prices for books over here usually costs me an arm and a leg, i do try to kerb my spending to books which i think (remember, the key word here is think) that is good. Therefore, a book doesnt have to be a bestseller or a great literature piece to be in my list, so who cares if you laugh at my choice of materials. ha ha..

However i do admit that i'm a sucker for fairytales type stories (carryover from my love of enid blyton series), although i've expanded my range to cover a broader subject of the supernaturals eg vampires, timetravelling and the likes. Of course, i cant say that romance novels are not top in my list hehe.., but i do try to fit in other genres as well.

I just completed the Twilight series, hence the slow progress on my current book, Inkheart. I even managed to "recruit" 4 other fans of Twilight at the office.. haha.. plus my other friends who also reads them..

The thing i like about the book is 1) it's about vampires 2) it's an epic love story. 'nuff said. haha..

Actually what i like about the book is even though it's basically targetted for young adult (i consider myself within the age group, you know.. been 17, for a while.. hehe..), the storyline can be enjoyed by any age group. It's a love story, of course, but not mushy, even if some anti-Twilight groupies argues that Bella 'worships' Edward too much. The book may not be high in terms of literature/english-wise, but i think that it's light-enough-yet-not-childish (some chick-lit is worst, in my opinion that is).

And then there's Edward. Perfect, in so many way.. yet can get away with it coz he's a vampire. Not the common vampire at that either. It's refreshing to read of a vampire, which does not follow the common rules... but if there's any flaw to the series, i'd have to say that Stephanie Meyer's version of a vampire is too perfect, especially in Book 4, Breaking Dawn. But otherwise, it's an enjoyable book, of which you will "cair" reading it.. hahah..

Anyway, i'm concentrating on Inkheart now. I think i'd like to live in Mo's house, if possible and can i get a house like Elinor?
Stacks of books were piled high all over the house - not just arranged in near rows on bookshelves, the way other people kept them, oh no! The books in Mo and Meggie's house were stacked under tables, on chairs, in the corners of the rooms. There were books in the kitchen and books in the lavatory. Books on the tv set and in the wardrobe, small pile of books, tall pile of books, books thick and thin, books old and new.

p/s: i do think it's about time i get myself a bookcase. I'm thinking of a narrow type of shelves rather than those normally bulky or deep type of shelving. That way i dont have to double stack my books & i'd be able to see the titles instead of moving them around. Now, the question is where do i find such a thing.. hmmm...

Ramai ulamak mengatakan bahawa bukan senang nak masuk syurga. Hendak dapatkan benda yang baik mestilah bersusah-susah dahulu. Berakit-rakit ke hulu, berenang-renang ke tepian. Kata perpatah Ingeris “no pain no gain”.

I was watching this Hindi movie, Jab We Meet.. i'm no die-hard-fan of hindi movie, but i do 'layan' them every once in a while.. hehe..

I've watched this particular movie before actually, but each time i do, i kept falling for the main character, Aditya (i've never seen any of this guy's other movie so i guess it's more accurate to say that i liked the character rather than the actor, dont you think so?) .. he looked so much like someone i knew way back when.. i guess you can say that he has the kind of look that i always fall for.. haha..

I remembered how hard it was.. Seeing someone, who had had history with you, who at one point meant something to you.. "walking down the aisle" (well, the term doesnt apply in a Malay wedding, but you get what i mean, right..) with someone else.. Even if you no longer have feelings for the person.. It's hard.

But jodoh di tangan Tuhan. He knows what's best for you, even if you dont understand it at the time. or ever.

Honey, you're one strong babe.. That chapter of your life is over & dont let it get you down. As it is, you've got a new man already.. *wink*...

p/s: Now, if only i was as lucky as you to have a new man of my own.. There's gotta be somebody for me too, right? right ? sigh..

Nickelback
Gotta Be Somebody

This time, I wonder what it feels like
To find the one in this life, the one we all dream of
But dreams just aren't enough
So I'll be waiting for the real thing, I'll know it by the feeling
The moment when we're meeting, will play out like a scene
Straight off the silver screen
So I'll be holding my own breath, right up 'til the end
Until that moment when, I find the one that I'll spend forever with

'Cause nobody wants to be the last one there
'Cause everyone wants to feel like someone cares
Someone to love with my life in their hands
There's gotta be somebody for me like that
'Cause nobody wants to do it on their own
And everyone wants to know they're not alone
There's somebody else that feels the same somewhere
There's gotta be somebody for me out there

Tonight, out on the street, out in the moonlight
And dammit this feels too right, it's just like déjà vu
Me standing here with you
So I'll be holding my own breath, could this be the end
Is it that moment when, I find the one that I'll spend forever with

'Cause nobody wants to be the last one there
'Cause everyone wants to feel like someone cares
Someone to love with my life in their hands
There's gotta be somebody for me like that
'Cause nobody wants to do it on their own
And everyone wants to know they're not alone
There's somebody else that feels the same somewhere
There's gotta be somebody for me out there

You can't give up, looking for a diamond in the rough
You never know, when it shows up, make sure you're holding on
'Cause it could be the one, the one you're waiting on
'Cause nobody wants to be the last one there
And everyone wants to feel like someone cares
Someone to love with my life in their hands
There's gotta be somebody for me, ohhh

Nobody wants to do it on their own
And everyone wants to know they're not alone
There's somebody else that feels the same somewhere
There's gotta be somebody for me out there
Nobody wants to be the last one there
'Cause everyone wants to feel like someone cares
There's somebody else that feels the same somewhere
There's gotta be somebody for me out there

I just heard from my mum, about a boy in her tuition class..

Apparently, his grades has been dropping despite him being a pretty good student. My mum highlighted her concerns to the mother, asking whether he was sick or something.. She wasnt quite sure what was wrong & the docs kept saying that there's nothing wrong with him..

Since my mother just started classes for the year this week, she was so shocked to find that the doctor has declared that the boy's hearing is totally beyond repair (if i'm not mistaken, it's one side of the ear, not both ).. & this poor boy, who's only in Form 3 will now be well, requiring the use of hearing aids & such.. he & the mother is totally heartbroken over it, especially the fact that the doctors was unable to detect it in time to help the boy.. I suppose one of the incident that lead to the discovery was when the boy never heard his own niece crying out loud, while he was sitting next to her..

Anyway, i wish all the best for the kid.. Hope he & his family stay strong in facing this challenge.. You never know, mungkin ada hikmah di sebaliknya, hanya Allah saja yang tahu..

Pray tell me where do i find such a guy.. ahaks..

Your Everything - by Keith Urban
The first time I looked in your eyes I knew
That I would do anything for you
The first time you touched my face I felt
Like I've never felt with anyone else

I wana give back what you've givin' to me
And I wanna witness all of your dreams
Now that you've shown me who I really am
I wanna be more then just your man

I wanna be the wind that fills your sails
And be the hand that lifts your veil
And be the moon that moves your tide
The sun coming up in your eyes
Be the wheels that never rust
And be the spark that lights you up
All that you've been dreaming of and more
So much more, I wanna be your everything...

When you wake up, I'll be the first thing you see
And when it gets dark you can reach out for me
I'll cherish your words and I'll finish your thoughts
And I'll be your compass baby, when you get lost

I wanna be the wind that fills your sails
And be the hand that lifts your veil
And be the moon that moves your tide
The sun coming up in your eyes
Be the wheels that never rust
And be the spark that lights you up
All that you've been dreaming of and more
So much more, I wanna be your everything...

Be the wheels that never rust
And be the spark that lights you up
All that you've been dreaming of and more
So much more, I wanna be your everything...
I wanna be your everything

was sort of watching the Alexander Bukan Zulkarnain - The Making (in between trying to get connected to the net.. only managed to log in tonite since i got back.. ) tonite..

Now this is one interesting topic/documentary that i wanna watch.. Since i watched Colin Farrel portraying Alexander The Great as in the movie Alexander, as ignorant as i am about Islamic history, i'm sure that is so not Iskandar Zulkarnain...

Marilah kita tengok sama2 ek..

you can read more from those who were involved in the documentary, try this link http://syirfan.wordpress.com/2008/11/07/

I'm backk, Alhamdullillah... :)

As one of the 'makcik' from my package said, i don't exactly know how to express my feelings about my experience so i'll just have to say that you have to experienced it yourselves.

But what i can say is that it is easy.. and it is hard, very hard.. emotionally, spiritually, mentally.. the things that happens around you, just shows you how great Allah is.. and how small you are.. and that truly only those chosen by Allah are able to go..

however, to those who have met the criteria to perform hajj, i'd advice you to go.. go now while you are still young, energetic.. it requires a lot of strength to do all that walking, seriously.. benda wajib nih kita kena buat jugak..

Also, it's not enough to just have the money & health to think that you are ready to go..

Learn! Learn! Learn!..

please learn as much as you can before you go. You'll get all kinds of "advice" from all sorts of people, even contradicting ones, so you better be sure you know what you're doing.. We're doing this once is a lifetime (more if Allah permits) and that one time, we want to do the right thing.. do the best..

Insyallah, kalau niat kita baik, Allah permudahkan..

There's this Japanese drama i watched before, but never finished, until now.. a true story about 15-year old Aya Kito (or in the drama Aya Ikeuchi) based on her diary, who had an incurable degenerative disease.. about her struggles & how she remained positive about it and lived her life til the end.
A portion of the drama was about the love she had with a classmate of hers, Haruto Asou. Whether this happened in real life, i'm not too sure but it was in the drama. Originally, she had a crush on her senior, but the guy bailed out on her when he found out that she was sick. Haturo, on the other hand, initially a very aloof guy & angry at the world (due to his older brother's death) etc, was able to relate to Aya's pain in facing death.
In the drama, what stood out to me was how typically Asian on how Haruto handled his feelings for Aya.. hehe, at least that's what i think.. i mean all he did was watch her silently from afar. He would just be beside her, listening to her. He would accompany her when she couldnt join the sports club. Treat her like normal, when others shun her & complained that she was a burden to them. He lets her cry & vent her frustration about her disease. He did his own research into the desease, plus going into medical school for her. He also had to endure his father's objection against his relationship with Aya.
There was no big show of affection like holding hands, or going out on dates, or official title of girlfriend/boyfriend. There's no showers of gifts except that one time when he bought her a dolphin phone tag (same as his) to remember their date at the aquarium. Of course, there's also that beautiful plant he brought for her when she moved to the hospital.
But it's the little things that he does that shows how much he loved her. Memang mamat tuh sayang giler la, even if she's in a wheelchair & cant barely talk.

The closest thing to "i love you" that Asou-kun had ever told Aya-chan...awww, sweet sangat..:
Is it okay if i say what i'm feeling right now?
I dont know what's gonna happen in the future.
But right now, what i'm feeling is 100% not a lie.
I can say that with confidence.
For me, as long as it's you that saying it, it doesnt matter how slowly you say it, i'll still listen.
If you cant talk over the phone, then i'll come to see you, just like this.
I'm not a dolphin. You, you're also not a dolphin.
If you want to walk, no matter how slow it'll be, i will walk with you.
Right now, i might not be that reliable.
One day, maybe i'll be able to help.
Things cant be the same as they were before, but there's this kind of feeling that's linking us together.
I dont think that we're living in different worlds.
I.. with regards to you...
I like you.
Maybe.
I like you, maybe. (smilling)
Probably.

1. Throw out nonessential numbers.
This includes age, weight, and height.
Let the doctors worry about them.. That is why you pay them.

2. Keep only cheerful friends.
The grouches pull you down.
(Keep this in mind if you are one of those grouches!)

3. Keep learning:
Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever.
Never let the brain get idle.
‘An idle mind is the devil’s workshop.’
And the devil’s name is Alzheimer’s!

4. Enjoy the simple things
5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
And if you have a friend who makes you laugh, spend lots and lots of
time with him or her!

6. The tears happen:
Endure, grieve, and move on.
The only person who is with us our entire life, is ourself.
LIVE while you are alive.

7 Surround yourself with what you love:
Whether it’s family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever.
Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health:
If it is good, preserve it.
If it is unstable, improve it.
If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don’t take guilt trips.
Take a trip to the mall, even to a foreign country, but NOT to where the
guilt is

10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

And if you don’t send this to at least four people - who cares? But do
share this with someone.

Wishing everyone out there happy Ramadhan & may all your good deeds for the month be accepted by Allah...

(QS> Al Baqarah 186)

1. Do'a apabila datang bulan Ramadhan, dengan mengucapkan :

(HR. Ahmad dan An-Nasa'i).

3. Do'a dari orang berpuasa secara mutlak di bulan Ramadhan, karena kemuliaan waktu dan keadaan orang-orang yang berpuasa, lebih lagi dengan memperbanyak zikir. Yang paling utama adalah membaca Al-qur'an.

4. Menyengaja berdo'a dengan penuh semangat pada malam-malam sepuluh yang terakhir dengan harapan bertepatan dengan malam Lailatul Qadar, sebagaimana telah dishahih dari Nabi SAW bahwa Beliau mengajarkan do'a kepada Aisyah RA :

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌ تُحِبُّ العَفْوَفَاعْفُ عنَّي

Ya Allah, Sesungguhnya Engkau Maha Pemaaf dan menyukai maaf, maka maafkanlah aku".

Tidak shahih dalam hadits ini. "عَفُوٌ Setelah lafazh " " كَرِيْمٌ " kata Adapun tambahan

5. Do'a ketika berbuka:

6. Do'a ketika berbuka puasa pada suatu kaum, dengan do'a yang artinya :
"Telah berbuka orang-orang yang puasa disisi kalian, telah memakan makanan kalian orang-orang yang baik dan para malaikat bershalawat atas kalian".

7. Do'a Tatkala sahur
Tetapi tidak ada do'a khusus untuk hal ini, namun karena keumuman firman Allah:

وَبِاْلأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ

Dan ketika sahur mereka beristighfar. (QS. Adz-Dzaariyaat 18).

8. Do'a ketika keluar dari bulan Ramadhan.

"Having a crush is a euphoric, desperate, compulsive state of being...."
Or at least i've read that somewhere.. hehe.. to me, crushes are so exciting.. it makes your day just to see them.. Especially since your object of interest do not know about it (most of the time.. hehe) ...

And he look oh so cute today in casual outfit... awww.. :)
p/s: it's only a crush. dont take it too seriously coz i dont. it's not something i want to be real. just a little fantasy to escape the reality.. ahaks..

Saw the news on the net.. Lee Eon, a.k.a Korean drama Coffee Prince's Hwang Min Yeop, died on Thursday (22 Aug) due to a motorcycle accident.. omg.. apparently he was on his way home after a party when the accident occured. And the saddest part was, he's only 27 yrs old.. Guess we never really know when our time will come huh..

i so loved Coffee Prince.. It's basically a love story between Han Kyul, the rich, carefree heir & hardworking, down-on-her-luck, boyish looking Eun Chan.. They started falling for each other while working at Han Kyul's coffee shop, which his grandmother forced him to managed. However, chaos arises as Han Kyul who didn't know that Eun Chan's a girl, tries to deny his feeling for her..

Btw, Min Yeop is one of the "prince" who works in the same coffee shop, as well as Eun Chan's sister's boyfriend.. fuh, what a mouthful.. ;p

What happened to us? You know? I don't know who I am anymore. Or how I got here. I miss who I used to be. I wanna have a home again, you know? And real friends. You know, the kind of friendships we used to believe in. I miss that. And I miss you. I guess I miss all of it. Does any of that make any sense?

- Peyton Sawyer, One Tree Hill

Sometimes when you're young you think nothing can hurt you. It's like being invincible. Your whole life is ahead of you and you have big plans. Big plans. Find your perfect match, the one that completes you. But as you get older you realize it's not always that easy. It's not until the end of your life that you realize that the plans you made were simply plans. Because at the end when you're looking back instead of forward, you want to believe that you made the most of what life gave you. You want to believe that you are leaving something good behind. You want it all to have mattered.

- Lucas Scott, One Tree Hill

Surah Al-Kautsar

Perkara yg baik kita amalkan slalu.

Wassallam.

How do you feel if you came face-to-face with people from your past? People, who at one time, was a big part of your life .. or heck, just came across their pictures, of their happy lives, with someone else.. ? I mean, chances are, since they were your 'friend', they're also friends of your friends..meaning that chances of that happening are pretty good.. we somehow dont run thaaat far off from those few circles of friends that we have.. so yeah, you kinda never managed to get rid of them from your life...

These incidents are not made intentionally.. to specifically taunt you for some twisted reasons.. most of the time anyway, ha ha..

But when that happens, do you walk away ?
Do you take a walk down memory lane & think about the what-ifs ?
Do you resent them for being happy with other people instead of you?
or it just makes no difference to you maybe?

But, then, who am i kidding..? They may had meant something in my life at one time & that will never go away. That's just not life that i see for myself, as hard as it was to let go.. it was just not meant to be..

But man, if only la my life even makes sense right now, at least it wouldnt be so hard to not be jealous of other people's life.. ha..

I would so recommend seeing the new movie, Wall-e.. the story is so adorable & cute however, carries a very serious message. Salute to Pixar for being able to convey such a heavy message in a creative & lighthearted way.

What Your Taste in Chocolate Says About You

You are sophisticated, modern, and high class.

Your taste is refined, but you are not picky.

You are often the first to try something new.

You are friendly, witty, and likable.

You charm is overwhelming. People are enchanted by you.

You have a comeback for anything. Because of this, you seem flippant at times.

You love being by yourself and thinking. Developing your own theories and ideas is fun.

You feel lost when you're forced to be social. Being with other people can be lonely for you.

At this new company of mine, we've had to attend quite a number of trainings. So the other day, we had to attend a coaching training. However, what stayed in my mind was my discussion with a colleague after that session.

She was telling me about a similar training she attended before. I wasn't that surprised about that fact but because that training was organised by her church. Of course, I've already known her as a pretty religious girl, very active in church & so on. Anyway, she said that her church do organised a lot of these kinds of thing - leadership training, coaching etc. And she's told me on a number of occasion about her pastor whom she looked up to, who always put himself at their level, keeping abreast with the latest songs, slangs, lifestyle etc just to ensure that he's able to approach them. In fact, the church is organised in such a way very much like a business organisation - with a vision casters & a few levels of managers.

Listening to her, & not for the first time, makes me wonder... just look at how organised these people are & how stategic their approach towards youngsters are. Now, comparing that to our own religion, man.. bukan apa, buat malu ada ler.. I mean, you get these people in robes, going house to house inviting them to the mosques but folks you forget.. you're targeting those people who are already going to the mosques instead of those "kutu's" by the roadside. Plus all those fights occured coz people are of different political view - i mean, what is that all about?

Come on la people.. if you want people to love Islam, to want to approach Islam.. you've got to show it la.. For example, that ustaz Ahkil Hayy.. mmg ustaz rock abih, but i think he has a point..

Anyway, that's just my 2-cent worth of input for tonite, for whatever that's worth.

Way back then, slides was the craze in the states.. So i've got boxes & boxes of slides of my travels then, which btw i'm not able to check out coz the projector is already broken.. :(

So, I'm looking for a device which will able to convert slides (I think it's 33mm types) into digital images.. A friend of mine found this on the net, but i doubt it's sold locally.

Anyone knows if there's any shops who's able to perform this? Or can get hold of this item?

- No Beans

Uwa.. what to eat like that?

p/s: Luckily i found out that bread e.g Gardenia do not contain eggs.. otherwise i dont think i can survive through this.. must remember no kaya, no mayo, no... arghh..!

Erk.. had the scariest/weirdest dream last nite.. probably my fault as well, coz trying to watch a scary movie (Jangan Pandang Belakang) on Astro last nite.. watched it for abt 20mins, then thought i better not continue.. hehe.. karang sendiri takut, sapa nak tolong? ahaks..

Anyway, back to the dream.. i guess i was PD (since it's just been a couple of weeks back when i went there with my colleagues) or somewhere near a beach & some trees.. guess something happened, or some accident of sort, whereby me & 2 others got err.. killed kot.. and in a "Ghost Whisperer" style, my "ghost" went to search for my ex-colleague, trying to tell them what had happened to me..

I'm not the type to dwell on deathly matters, so the dream was kinda of an odd topic for me.. but then i could have been thinking abt those influx of local & foreign horror movies lately.. plus, i have heard some interesting ghost stories over lunch recently too.. hehe..

however, what i'm trying to really reflect upon is, how much do we really ponder over death.. people do say nothing clears your priority like death flashing across your mind.. and i was just thinking that if i die today, i don't think i have enough to carry me into the afterlife.. i mean, sure i try not to miss my prayers, i fast every now & then (other than ramadhan), i basically try to follow the rules.. but at times, i'm not sure if i'm truly there.. i dont dress properly e.g i still do the 3/4 sleeves & fitting clothes, my scarves are not always proper..i dont always check that my food are (truly) halal (ie i take for granted that it is, given that i live in this country..).. i dont always listen/join the 'ceramah's or religious talks.. i watch way too much tv & listen to too much music.. i dont always listen to my parents.. well, you get the picture..

and to really understand our roles & responsibilities to Allah in this world, well, it can be overwhelmingly scary to realise how far you are from the ideal.. at the end of it, i can only try my best & hope that my "niat"/intention is enough to win me a spot in 'syurga'(heaven)...insya allah...

"There comes a time when every life goes off course. In this desperate moment you must choose your direction. Who will you be? Will you fight to stay on the path while others tell you who you are? Or will you label yourself? Will you be honored by your choice? Or will you embrace your new path? Will you let down your defenses and find solace in someone unexpected? Will you reach out? Will you face your greatest fears bravely or move forward with faith? Or will you succumb to the darkness in your soul? Each morning you choose to move forward or to simply give up.

What Lilue Means

You are relaxed, chill, and very likely to go with the flow.

You are light hearted and accepting. You don't get worked up easily.

Well adjusted and incredibly happy, many people wonder what your secret to life is.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.

You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.

You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

You are a very lucky person. Things just always seem to go your way.

And because you're so lucky, you don't really have a lot of worries. You just hope for the best in life.

You're sometimes a little guilty of being greedy. Spread your luck around a little to people who need it.

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.

You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.

At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

It's okay to be afraid
of the things you don't understand.
It's okay to be anxious
when things aren't working your way.
It's okay to feel lonely...
even when you're with other people.
It's okay to feel unfulfilled
because you know something is missing
(even when you're not sure what it is.)
It's okay to think and worry and cry.

It's okay to do
whatever you have to do, but
just remember, too,
that eventually you're going to
adjust to the changes life brings your way,
and you'll realize that
it's okay to love again and laugh again,
and it's okay to get to a point where
the life you live
is full and satisfying and good to you...
and it will be that way
because you made it that way.

So there's this boy.
He's really got my attention.
Bottom line - if he wants me.
I could be his.
But he don't.

So happy birthday to you, my friend.

My neighbour, way back in the Island, somehow located me on Facebook. So, i've like, have not seen him (physically) since we left high school.. although the first 1-2 years abroad, we've crossed path before, thru friends etc..

Anyway, he's inviting me to his wedding next month. To tell the truth, i'm not sure whether i want to go. Of course, first & foremost is the daunting task of "going thru" it alone.. I mean, i'm not too sure who's exactly attending this do.. the only mutual acquintance we have that i'm still in contact with is Mrs.BF, of course.. and well, anyone else that i might know there, are basically "people from my past", some whom i'm not too keen to run into..

if i've got a prince of my own, then at least by default i've got someone to drag to such occasions.. hehe.. but to drag one of my girlfriends, pity them too.. there wouldnt be anyone that they'd know there (i'd think so, but i could be wrong.. )

Plus, knowing this guy.. hmm.. and looking at his card & website (seriously, he created a website just to announce his wedding.. ish ish) .. i've got this uneasy feeling about the whole thing.. ntah ler..

but can't deny that i am curious to see how these people have turned out now.. the picture of them that i have at the back of my mind is still a bunch of kids in their white shirt & pants school uniforms.. hahah.. zaman2 budak2 bodoh dulu..

Mrs.BF - jom ler pergi with me..!! :(

Mdm KS told me the good news earlier today.. Congrats babe!!

*******************************************************

Sometimes i wonder.. the Ex got married the same day as Mdm KS (well, probably earlier since the kenduri on his side was the same day as Mdm KS's).. if it was me, i wonder what my life would be like today.. going on to child no 2 maybe.. i dont know.. i havent heard from him since that last phone call with that invitation to his wedding..

i dont have regrets, but the what-if's do poke it's ugly head out sometimes.. would i have had my happy-endings? who knows, it could also be the worst nightmare (given some of my friend's experience) of my life.. only God knows best.. i know He has His plans for me but yet, sometimes i dont know if i am strong enough to face His tests..

While we were preparing to receive our new GM in a welcoming party today, we were suddenly surprised by an announcement of a bomb threat. I, on my way to check on the food, almost dropped my jaws in surprised.. i mean, seriously? i've heard of it happening & i logically think that it is not impossible, but yet, it seem unreal that it would happen to us.. of course, i did not have some kind of whole-life-flashes-in-your-mind kinda thing.. i was too busy trying to settle/think abt the last minute details of the party & at the same time evacuating the premise etc.. hehe.. i know most of us take the whole thing lightly & made jokes about it, but what if la ek.. there was a real bomb? you people should really learn to walk faster (ie not melenggang).. i know it is 9/11 today but cant think of where we fit in this picture.. i mean we're not even a US-based company.. probably just coz we're big.. if it was my previous company, i wouldnt be surprised.. they are a well-known US company & the company logo i'm sure is way too obvious from the air..

msg'd my friend about it while waiting for the bomb squad clearance.. at first he didnt quite believe me and he supposedly planned to come over to the office today.. guess it's his lucky day today..

**************************
I was watching Oprah the other day.. she was interviewing some ladies, Jennifer Aniston included.. who are first-timer director of short movies as part of Glamour magazine challenge.. i was quite interested in what one of the ladies' commented.. that there's so many women like me (ie singles), who have their heads up in the clouds (eg on ipod, phone or just plain ignoring other people) just "miss" the signs given to them by men..

is that so? i mean, i do know i can be a bit too "lurus" (naive - i think).. and i dont usually find it easy to connect with a stranger.. so yeah, maybe i am missing all the "signs" out there, but sometimes, the ones i do meet.. gives such confusing signals, that i cant even tell what exactly these people are trying to tell me.. either he dont know how to woo a girl (ie give the right signal) or he's just plain not interested. ntahler.. to pursue doesnt seem right, but not to pursue also sounds very wrong.. ;p

so can you blame a girl for not 'seeing' the signs.... ?

I picked up this song from a cd i bought in France during the milleninum new year. We were on our way back from our day trip to Geneva, Switzerland to my senior's friend's place. My senior, she wanted to buy some French songs to remember our trip there. So we stopped by this mall we found & since both of us knows next to nothing about french musics, we just grabbed a cd each. Somehow, she ended up with a french artist's english album instead.. hehe.. poor her..

I on the other hand, bought a compilation album, with some familiar english songs mixed with french ones.. When i heard this song, i was totally hooked.. wished i could watch the actual Notre Dame de Paris musical.. (yeah, right... i can barely afford to watch any theater here.. let alone go to Paris to watch one..)..

p/s: can you believe that Garou (the first singer) played Quasimodo? he is soo good looking & that voice.. need i say more?

I'm no budding gardener, but during my shopping spree with the parents in Sg Buloh this morning.. wah, very the tempted to get all those oh, so pretty flowers.. :) opps, stop..! remember that you know nuts abt flowers & plants.. and there are days when you'd forget to water them.. hey, i'm a busy gal you know.. hehe.. of course i do try to make sure that my plants are watered at least once a day, what do you take me for?...

We managed to came back with some lime, hibiscus and another orangy flower plant which i have no idea what's the name.. as well as a bunch of grass for my backyard.. this will be the second time we're planting grass at the house.. and to think that before, the idea of people actually buying & planting grass are so beyond me, i cant imagine it at all.. haha..
Anyway, only managed to finish half of the backyard.. ;p we'll see if my dad will be able to continue tomorrow before they leave for their morning appointment... Otherwise, i'd probably have to continue.. eek.. :( it's actually not as easy as it looks trying to 'meng-cangkul' & 'menggemburkan' tanah, kay..

There are moments when you just suddenly stop, step out from the moving wheel of life and wonder is there more to life than this? You look at the wheel that continued moving, you look at the people on it – some that you know, others that you don’t – and you start asking yourself, is this what you want in life?
As more years are added onto you, these moments start to come more frequently. Signs of maturity perhaps, but maybe it’s just our destiny. Maybe we’ve always been on a journey. And these ‘moments’ are just triggers to bring us back on track.
I don’t know.
Right now, I’m still standing still, watching the wheel move past me.

I need a...

boyfriend..

or an escort.. :(

or a driver would do... muahaha...

It's my girlfriend's wedding this weekend up north..
and i've got no one to go with (or rather to drive me).. uwaa..

I rather not drive myself, altho, if need to, i guess it's not such a big deal..
However, my mum does make a big fuss over it, which i so do not want to get into that now..
And since she's also going (we're only gonna be meeting there), i cant exactly show up & not explain how i got there.. heheh..

Unless of course there are other ppl going to the wedding as well...
& willing to take in this hitchhiker along.. i'm all game for it.. *wink*

Went to visit Mrs.BestFriend just now.. She's doing fine but her baby (currently named "Baby F" as the parents dont wanna divulge the name till he's been registered.. ;p) was still in the incubator earlier.. even her parents have yet to meet their new grandson..

Baby F did arrive right on the dot, but apparently his lung's a little weak/under-developed & doc suspected some infections etc.. anyway, we spied on him from the corner of the nursery & he looks pretty fine to us.. he's only abt 2.6kg when he was born, but i'm sure not for long.. he''d be up & running before you know it...*wink* probably was just trying to scare/play a trick on his parents kot.. ahaks.. you've got a joker on your hand babe! hehe..

Anyway, i hope.. no i'm sure he's gonna be fine & be gorgeous and all..

Kesian my friend sorang ni.. 2 weeks ago her parents was supposed to fly for umrah, but got stuck due to visa problem.. also she had a hell of a week, being ill but cant take leave coz trying to tie up her work before she go for the study leave (last week) for an exam that was due last saturday.. not to mention preparing for her wedding in june..

aleh2.. i guess everything was taking it's toll on her.. she had some major headache & found a lump (ie bengkak) on top of her head (plus i guess her fever wasnt better since she first had it).. so masuk la hospital.. doc says that the lump was nothing to concern about, but they want to check her sinusitis.. eh, pulak?.. she also didnt know she has any sinus problems, a minor one maybe, but no real sinus problem.. anyway, she's been in hospital pantai indah since last thursday & going for the operation this morning..

went to see her yesterday.. and i didnt even know where is this hospital pantai indah.. ;p nasib baik ler jumpa.. hehe.. her parents & siblings was there, as well a bunch of relative on their way out.. good thing that her parents are here instead of in Mekah too.. ada hikmah rupanya diorg tak dapat pergi..

oh ya, the exam will have to be postponed to september instead..

Apr 6, 2007

Auww.. my ex-colleagues called me up just now (well, rather one of them wanted to ask me abt some workings, while the other just wanted to hi).. she was telling me abt how much they missed me & how the place now feels slightly emptier without me.. (or rather how i'm no longer there to bug her really.. hehe.. i used to ask her all sorts of questions coz she's pretty senior over there..) and now that another of my ex-colleague is also leaving to join me here, she was pretty much devastated.. poor lady.. ;p

and no, i did not 'pujuk' my friend tuh to follow me regardless what some might think... although i guess she finally decided to accept after she found out that i accepted the offer. But it will be good for her as she'd get a chance to become a manager here... & i get a buddy to learn the ropes here together.. :)

Overall, have not gone full swing on the work yet.. still helping out here & there, rather than starting on my actual job.. so can't comment much on that.. of course, the nature of this job requires me to go back to basics.. erk, left those for so long, can barely remember them.. hehe..

the only other thing that bothers me (& just abt every other person who drives) abt here is the parking.. at the moment, i'm coming in pretty early & going back, i guess you can call it normal hours.. hehe.. this means, my sleeping & mealtime is totally screwed up .. i'd be having breakfast wayy early, then lunch at 12 (before lunch hour was 12.30, which i dont always go on time anyway..).. so then i'd get so darn sleepy & hungrier in between meal times.. aiyo, how la to conform to my diet like this..? and i so need to, esp since in may timeframe, got lots of kenduris to go to :(

Last quarter, the ex-boss gave our team a set of voucher each to dine at any of the restaurants in KL Hilton. I have been putting it off long enough & decided to use it before it expires next month.. One of the guys tried the Sudu Restaurant, but he wasnt too impressed by it. Guess he thought that for such value, the food could have been better. But a posh places like this, you're usually paying more for the ambiance/name/etc rather than the food.. right?

Someone suggested that i try either the Chinese or Japanese Restaurant.. Luckily both me & my date had a preference for japanese food for now & decided to go for the Jampagne buffet at Iketeru Restaurant last weekend.

The buffet was from 12-2.30pm for abt RM98++/pax (drinks not included). there's abt 100 dishes to pick from.. and you can order & repeat order as many as u like, max of 5 dish at a time.. within the hour given of course.. there's so many that we wanted to try.. hehe.. besides 2++ hrs was not long enough for a buffet spread.. especially with the both of us chatting non-stop through out the meal.. hehe.. the restaurant itself was quite impressive.. nice ambiance, cosy layout, attentive service and the food's pretty good.. hehe.. my date was totally in love their wasabi, apparently it has more 'kick' than most places he's been to..

overall verdict, i wouldnt mind doing it again.. good food, great place, cool company.. :)

This is a must read for all ladies)

In a brief conversation, a man asked a woman he was pursuing the question......

"What kind of man are you looking for?"

She sat quietly for a moment before looking him in the eye and asking.

"Do you really want to know?"

Reluctantly, he said, "Yes."

She began to expound...
As a woman in this day and age, I am in a position to ask a man what he can do for me that I can't do for myself. I pay my own bills. I take care of my household without the help of any man. I am in the position to ask, "What can you bring to the table?"

The man looked at her. Clearly he thought that she was referring to money.

She quickly corrected his thought and stated,
"I am not referring to money. I need something more. I need a man who is striving for perfection in every aspect of life."

He sat back in his chair, folded his arms, and asked her to explain.

She said,
"I am looking for someone who is striving for perfection mentally because I need conversation and mental stimulation. I don't need a simple-minded man."

I am looking for someone who is striving for perfection spiritually because I don't need to be unequally yoked... believers mixed with unbelievers is a recipe for disaster.

I need a man who is striving for perfection financially because I don't need a financial burden.

I am looking for someone who is sensitive enough to understand what I go through as a woman, but strong enough to keep me grounded.

I am looking for someone who I can respect. In order to be submissive, I must respect him. I cannot be submissive to a man who isn't taking care of his business. I have no problem being submissive...he just has to be worthy. God made woman to be a helpmate for man. I can't help a man if he can't help himself."

When she finished her spill, she looked at him. He sat there with a puzzled look on his face.

He said, "You're asking a lot."

She replied, "I'm worth a lot."

Send this to every woman who's worth a lot and every man who needs to know that.

Hmm... i havent updated this blog for so long.. almost forgot that i have one.. haha.. the last few month have been such a whirlwind of activities, so didnt have the time to blog, nor check out other people's blog, much.. hehe..

Anyway, to those who still havent heard the news, i have left the present company & moved on to a new one.. I now have joined the steps of my ex-unimates & joined the oil&gas industry, altho as a rival instead.. hehe.. :)

How & why? I guess it was just time.. plus if i stayed any longer that the old place, i think i would have died of burn-out.. ;p life wasnt easy there.. not that it's any easier here (although that's what i'm hoping for..), but it will be a fresh start for me.. plus, i got a better offer here & hopefully a better future.. will see how it goes.. but wish me luck, kay..

haha.. guess what...? just met up with one of my ex-colleague yesterday.. he laughingly told me this story that's being going around since i left.. apparently when i told then i'm leaving for "personal reasons", which btw, i meant that i am 'personally fed-up with the people & getting burn-out there..'.. they came up with some story that i had some kinda of an affair with a married man & when it didnt work out, i decided to leave..

huh? me? get real.... he's just one of my lunch-buddies & the gang does include another single girl (which i've also heard that she's being subjected to the same speculation..).. & few other guys, whom rarely join us since these guys spend most of their time travelling.. aiyoo.. grow up la.. just because there are some people who do it, doesnt mean everyone else are.. there are man & woman out there who can be matured enough to be "just friends" you know.. besides, my friend tuh, never stops talking abt his wife & kids.. plus he, being "big brother" to me & the other girl, forever trying to 'menyibuk' abt our love life anyway & bugging us to get married asap.. so yeah right, we are "having an affair" with him.. & meeting up with his wife & kids during weekends at that.. very the interesting drama, huh... hehe.. besides, he has such a gorgeous wife that even his wife is not worried that he'd stray.. ahaks..

Anyway, gotta start with my training for now.. later...

Suppose you require a new sofa. Your old one is most uncomfortable. You have to carefully arrange the cushions just to sit down for just a few moments. Should you keep the current piece of furniture until you have a replacement - or should you throw it out? That, more or less makes a metaphor for your current dilemma. You may be far better off with nothing to sit on than with the wrong sort of seat. The latter will encourage you to put up with a poor situation for longer than you should.

Apart from this being a zodiac reading thingy & how u should not believe in it yadda yadda yadda..., it does express exactly what's in my mind right now.. if i follow what my heart says, i'd probably "throw the old sofa" today regardless when i'll get the new one.. but practicality has been drummed into my head since forever, which means that i'll put up with the old one til i get the replacement.. but i so dont want to.. :( at times like this i wished that i'm much more of a risk taker but can't shush away that little voice in my head telling me that i should not be burning my bridges unless i'm sure i can get to the other side safely.. *sigh*

Hmm..havent written in a long while.. dunno where to start already.. hehe..

OK, let start with the raya stories.. raya was a full house this year.. Abang decided to raya in penang this year, plus both his younger brother/sister... of course, after raya prayers, some salam2 & photo sessions, they left to go beraya with their dad & their dad's side..

Muah had to do some work during the hols tho :(.. altho, time raya, every gets pushed aside la... but of course.. :D had our yearly raya rounds to my mum's aunt/uncles houses on the 1st day, but came 2nd raya, so lazy to go anywhere.. with the rainy season an all.. hehe.. even tho we left for KL on wed, decided not to stop by our 'kampung', instead went straight back home.. did go for a few rounds of beraya with my parents here in kl, but otherwise, stayed home or went shopping instead.. so-the anti-social this year.. ahaks..

I didnt really have time to make anything for raya, but the 1batch of biscuits i made, ada org minat weh..akak tuh siap minta resepi lagi.. hehe.. so can make more la in future.. ahaks.. there's a few stuff i wanted to try out, but didnt have a chance.. plus who's gonna finish it up? ;p

The thing was, since came back from raya.. i think i've been working like 14-15hrs a day.. urgh..including the team building thingy we had last week.. beraya ngan org pun belum ni..
:( hopefully i'm able to take the day off tomorrow.. wish me luck! anyway, got 2 open house to go to this weekend plus the company annual dinner on sunday..
